Australian Poetry Slam is one of the largest performing writers' programs in the world. With 1000s of poets, story-tellers, lyricist and monologists performing each year to crowds in Australia, China and Indonesia.

On Oct 12, 2014 Zohab Zee Khan was chosen as Australian Poetry Slam Champion with his poem - "I Write"

Australian Poetry Slam Champion 2013 - Jesse John Brand

On October 13th 2013, Jesse John Brand from NSW was chosen as Australian Poetry Slam Champion at the APS Finals held in Sydney Opera House.

Australian Poetry Slam is a national program for writers who perform. Each year around 1000 spoken-word artists enter the APS until one is chosen to tour to the Bookworm International Literary Festival in China, the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival in Bali and the Byron Bay Writers Festival.

Kelly-lee Hickey won the Australian Poetry Slam National Final on December 5 2010. From a pool of over 600 writers around the country Kelly-lee's performance: "Thicker Than Water- Four Short Studies on Flesh and Blood" won her a tour of China with the Bookworm Literary Festival and a trip to the Ubud International Writers and Readers Festival in 2011. The Australian Poetry Slam in 2010 was made possible by support from the Sydney Theatre Company, State and Public Libraries and The Copyright Agency Limited
