Talking Stick - with Australian Poetry Slam Champion

  • Nuyorican Poets Cafe 236 East 3rd Street New York, NY, 10009 United States (map)

Two Australian wordsmiths play a game of catch; tipping the mic-stand back and forth, unravelling an explosive round robin of stories, poems, beats and lyrics.

Visit a remote Indigenous community, catching a glimmer of an endangered language. Hook up with hip Sydney nightingales who down poppy-wash to keep the shakes away. Understand how hard it is to run from your past. Wrestle with the question - How do I tell my child she can be hated for being born brown?

All this and laughter too?!
