Wake Up! with Jesse Oliver

Date: Wednesday, November 7, 2018
Time: 8.30pm - 10.00pm

What started out in Jesse Oliver’s Perth bedroom as a practice to combat crippling social anxiety led to Oliver’s being crowned Australian Poetry Slam Champion in 2017.

Oliver’s work is honest, funny and candid, blending his personal experiences of mental illness, gender transition and homelessness with the universal themes of love and dreams. Oliver will be in conversation with Miles Merrill and the event will be followed by an exciting session of slam poetry alongside Hong Kong’s Peel Street Poets.
