Suzanne is a 50-something person who believes poetry slams allow everyone to use their voice to validate their unique experience. As well as being busy with family responsibilities, she is a struggling 5km runner, a good friend and part-time speech and drama teacher. She lives in Sydney's east.

Elliot is a 2016 NSW Poetry Slam finalist who has featured at Enough Said and Parramatta Poetry Slam. He has performed with Wollongong Writers Festival, Viva La Gong and Yours and Owls. This year, Elliot made the very radical decision to reduce the number of his poems about unrequited love.

Chris has three claims to fame: he became the youngest ever recipient of the Albert Einstein prize for Combinatorial Mathematics, and he was diagnosed as a pathological liar. These four things make Chris a uniquely gifted poet, and he is here to poet harder than all the other poets combined.

Natalie Herranz is a seventeen year-old high school student from Bossley Park. You can catch her huddled under her doona reading The Handmaid’s Tale for the eighth time this month, re-enacting
arguments she lost in the 6th grade, or writing slam poetry in the foetal position on her couch.

Lizzie Kelly - Parramatta

Lizzie is a lemongrass enthusiast who has featured at Made from Scratch and Enough Said Poetry Slam. She co-produced a poetry space at Yours and Owls Festival, and always asks for two free waters at Macca’s. She writes about skateboards, hair elastics, the boyfriend, yellow, and dogs.

Brendan began his more official poetry exploits in early 2017 however he has always enjoyed writing poetry as a minor hobby. Brendan as a student often enjoys writing poetry about light-hearted and witty topics and is often described as child-like, exuberant, scheming, theatrical, cunning and nothing short of classy.

Born in the heart of Western Sydney, Helen Latukefu is a hafakasi Australian, Tongan HSC student, Science nerd and budding poet. In her first spoken-word performance she claimed the title of Newtown Poetry Slam Champion.

Alessandra has been writing poetry since around 2001 mainly of a humorous nature. Over the years she has recited these poems at open mic comedy nights, poetry slams and various other venues. She was originally inspired to write poems after reading Allen Carr's book "Easy Way To Stop Smoking".

Jade recently turned fourteen and is a grade 8 student, a successful debater, writer and artist. Having won numerous debates, her artwork and writing has also been published and displayed. She is a third poom black belt in Tae Kwon Do, has been school captain and enjoys umpiring netball games.

As a young, Australian-born Tamil woman, Srisha Sritharan uses poetry to explore contemporary socio-politics. While studying Business at UTS, Srisha's passion for spoken word was birthed during her time as an Editor for the university's magazine. She hopes to combine serial sh*t-talking with her musical flair to start pressing conversations.
