What are the barriers to participation in your arts community? When did you feel truly comfortable in a creative space, and why? How do you work through self-censorship?
Unspoken Words presents their workshop Bringing Everything, on participation barriers, self-censorship, and bringing everything to the table. Hosted by Unspoken Words producers: spoken word artist and percussionist Gabrielle Journey Jones and poet and performer Wil Roach, they’ll share stories speaking from their own experiences as artists, community workers and as mental health practitioners.
As poets of colour, Jones and Roach have designed this workshop to be particularly valuable for people from marginalised groups in Australia, who often do not feel safe enough to bring all of themselves to their creative community.
Workshop series presented in collaboration with Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
