Originally from Chicago (birthplace of slams), Miles is a writer, performer, facilitator and event coordinator who combines poetry with theatre, experimental audio, hip-hop beats, stand-up and, occasionally, political confrontation. Miles introduced poetry slams to Australia, co-wrote and co-directed Slamming for the Sydney Festival and performed with UK DJ Billy Bizniz at the Sydney Opera House. Internationally, Merrill has performed in Krakow’s Audio Art Festival, and writers festivals in Bali, Beijing, Vancouver and Calgary. He’s the ideas and meetings person.
Sarah Fallon is a writer and storyteller of the non-speaking variety. Her short stories and articles have been published in Overland, Writing Queensland and SQ Mag, among other places. She is passionate about literature and the arts in all its forms.
Emily Scott is a writer and arts enthusiast. Emily is the organisational admin whizz behind the Word Travels operation.
Emily Crocker writes and performs poetry. You might have seen her at BAD!SLAM!, Noted Festival, Unspoken Words, or Word in Hand. Emily can also be found at Enough Said Poetry Slam in Wollongong or studying at the University of Wollongong. Emily is interested in creative ways to reach and develop new audiences in the spoken word community.
