SLAMS

SLAMS

A poetry slam is a live or recorded event where poets, storytellers, lyricists and monologists perform short sharp works. Judges are chosen randomly from the audience to give scores. The artist with the highest score wins a prize or continues to the next round.

Poetry slams are powerful for their immediacy, accessibility and emotional power. All you need is your ideas, your voice and a mic.

Word Travels produces poetry slams for libraries, festivals, arts centres, councils, youth centres, schools, health organisations and private companies. They can be held anywhere, big or small and in multiple languages.
