Fire, water, wind and earth carefully crafted with your voice and poetry, Writers in the Park Poetry Slam asks you to take on the natural world.
Set the stage ablaze in the 3 minute time limit, flood the crowd with you words in a second round, blow the judges away and win awesome prizes, and keep yourself grounded by bringing a friend up with you. Extra points for collaborations - 2 or more poets welcome on stage. Prepare at least two poems.
It is emphatically the People’s Park. One of the grandest adornments of this beautiful country – Sir Henry Parkes, opening Centennial Park, 26 January 1888.
Writers in the Park Poetry Slam is a part of the inaugural 'Writers in the Park' Literary Festival. Set in the largest urban parkland, listen to the voices of Sydney alongside the beautiful native flora, fauna and wildlife found in Centennial Park.
