One Night with Mayda Del Valle
Def Poetry Jam Star, Mayda Del Valle is in Sydney for one night and one day only. From the streets of New York to an HBO TV hit series to Broadway to The White House now to Sydney Dance Lounge, her poetry is fierce and her delivery is explosive.
She mixes language and genre, combining spoken word, hip hop, poetry and song in a vivid and visceral experience that leaves audiences overwhelmed and begging for more.
Mayda's "way with words" has been described by the Chicago Sun Times as, "They seem to flutter and roll off her lips. Other times they burst forth like a comet streaking across a nighttime sky.”
