Facilitated by Sunil Badami and featuring the Writing Through Fences poets.

2- 3pm

The exile is the greatest patriot, said artist Jimmy Durham, whose work can be seen on the Hickson Road roundabout in nearby Walsh Bay.

Many proud Australians are exiles: refugees and asylum seekers who, after fleeing war and persecution, found a safe home in the lucky country.

Some famous and not-so-famous Australians share their stories of survival and arrival, with opportunities for you to ask questions and share your own story too.

Sunil Badami in Conversation with Dr Munjed Al Muderis (Author of Walking Free, Surgeon and Iraqui refugee) and two performing writers from refugee backgrounds, Kaveh Arya  & Hani Abdile.
