Multilingual Poetry Slam, an initiative of Word Travels, celebrates diversity of language by holding an annual event for people to express themselves and their culture in their own words.

Each year, people from across Sydney are invited to perform poetry, share stories, croon lyrics and monologue their ideas about identity, culture and community in their native language. Everyone is invited to sign up to perform with original writing in all languages encouraged.

This year the Multilingual Poetry Slam was held at Lost in Books in Fairfield on Friday 23rd February as part of the IN OTHER WORDS Festival. The champion of the night was Joseph Schwarzkopf.
