Anna Stewart is a performance poet hailing from Tasmania. A fixed performer in the Hobart poetry scene, their work is a conglomeration of rap, hip hop, rhythm, and classical poetry, often focussing on themes of queer Christianity, lgbtq issues, and privilege. They run Hobart’s local slam competition WhamBamSilverSlam!, and have been a feature poet at multiple events, including Melbourne’s GriffinSlam, Party in the Paddock, and the Nayri Niara festival. They have twice represented Tasmania at the Australian Poetry Slam in 2017 and 2018, and are the current APS national runner-up. To Anna, poetry has become a lifesaver and a platform for social change, and they take joy in sharing their love of poetry with others through workshops and performances.
