Alison Charlton

has written poems and short stories in communities of fellow writers for more than twenty years, and she belongs to Queanbeyan Writers. She knew nothing about Poetry Slam, but attended a workshop with Jesse Oliver last month to find out what it was all about.

Rather by accident than design, Allison found herself on stage taking part in local competition and she likes the challenge.

She lives in the bush and likes growing things. She is a refugee activist, a supporter and tree planter for Bush heritage in Monaro and its eighty-one years going on twenty-one.
